Ambo
Also in the sanctuary one
finds the ambo. It is the table from which
God feeds us with his life-giving Word.
Carved from the same rich red marble as the
altar, the ambo rests on four pillars
reminiscent of the four evangelists, Matthew,
mark, Luke and John, who first proclaimed the
Good News. The similarity to the altar in
design and materials expressed the integral
relationship between the Liturgy of the Word and
Liturgy of the Eucharist.
