The
Real Estate Department is responsible for coordinating the sales,
purchases and leases of properties for all Archdiocesan parishes and schools.
The department also manages the real estate portfolio of the
Archdiocese and maintains the records and data necessary to keep the Archbishop
informed on demographic information, and the current or future land needs
of the Archdiocese.
The
Real Estate Department is currently involved in approximately 25
acquisitions, 10 dispositions, 10 evaluations of donations, 5 lease
negotiations, and over 25 miscellaneous projects such as easement
requests, condemnation negotiations, and other matters.
By
managing this function for the Archdiocese, we are able to standardize our
transactions, free up the time for our pastors/clergy, and save money on
taxes, commissions, and consulting fees that is better applied to the
mission of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
